Puerto Rico Agriculture Secretary Irving Rodríguez Torres announced implementation of 120-day quarantines and biosecurity measures Tuesday, following confirmed avian influenza cases in Cabo Rojo and Lajas municipalities.^[1] The Department of Natural and Environmental Resources has launched a formal technical evaluation for possible reduced bioluminescence at Puerto Mosquito Bay, Vieques. DRNA Secretary Waldemar Quiles announced the review on Monday.^[2] Environmental organisation Comité Diálogo Ambiental filed a formal legal complaint with DRNA last week against Steri Tech facilities in Salinas. The complaint references emissions observed at the site on 29 September.^[3]
