The Puerto Rico Energy Regulatory Board has accused NFEnergía LLC, a subsidiary of New Fortress Energy, of conditioning natural gas supplies to the island to obtain favorable regulatory decisions.[1] On October 2, the same board ruled it would not issue additional directives or modify its September 30 resolution covering payments to New Fortress Energy, turning down an urgent motion submitted by the island power authority.[3] Legislators will hold a high level meeting at the Capitol to address a separate technical impasse that has prevented two finished renewable energy projects from connecting to the Puerto Rico power grid.[2]
