Empty classrooms trace the birth curve, not a plot

Schools close because the children never arrived and the families left, and the fix is more births, not more outrage.

Every closed school in Puerto Rico traces a birth curve and an exodus, not a conspiracy. More than 600 public schools have closed in the past decade [3]. Nearly 250,000 fewer children attend K-12 public schools today compared to 2010, a decline of 45% [2]. Public and private enrollment has dropped 44% since 2006 [10]. The buildings are empty because the children are gone.
