On 13 October 2026, New Fortress Energy’s LNG tanker Amur River completed docking at the company’s terminal in Puerto Nuevo, San Juan Bay, to supply natural gas for the island’s power generation.[1] Puerto Rico’s port and energy authorities granted the vessel priority entry, a decision announced by the government on the same day.[2] The carrier had spent nearly a month offshore before entering the bay on Tuesday.[3] The Amur River is loaded with LNG destined for electrical generation.[4] New Fortress Energy had halted deliveries on 16 September 2025 and resumed them on 13 October 2025 hours before a scheduled federal court hearing.[5] The arrival appears to ease pressure on a fragile energy system that has struggled with insolvency, which was recorded in 2015.[6][7]
