Aibonito Chicken Festival draws an estimated 25,000, closes with island's largest arroz con pollo

The 15th edition ran October 16-18 at the public plaza; the municipality reported no police incidents and pointed the benefits at local merchants and nonprofits.

The 15th Aibonito Chicken Festival ran October 16-18 at Aibonito Public Plaza and closed with the preparation of Puerto Rico's largest arroz con pollo.[1][2] The Municipio de Aibonito estimated more than 25,000 people attended over the weekend.[3] More than 2,500 athletes ran the festival's 10K, with 2,254 completing the course.[4][5] The municipality said the festival benefited local merchants, nonprofit organizations and entrepreneurs, and reported no police incidents during the celebration.[6][7] Mayor Willie Alicea Pérez credited municipal employees, sponsors, merchants, community organizations and volunteers for making the event possible.[8]
