Para la Naturaleza distributed 200 donated trees free of charge at Casa Pueblo in Adjuntas on 24 October 2026. Pickup hours are set from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM that day. All members of the public may attend the event. No eligibility limits were noted in the announcement. The Adjuntas giveaway is part of La Siembra, Para la Naturaleza's annual reforestation effort, which runs through October under the Siembra Sombra campaign.[1] The organization has set a goal of planting 50,000 trees in October 2026.[2] Para la Naturaleza operated six free distribution points across Puerto Rico and had distributed 21,000 trees by 10 October.[3][4] A national tree-planting day is scheduled for 24 October, the same date as the Adjuntas event.[5] The campaign comes after months of extreme drought and a rising wildfire count: Puerto Rico's fire corps responded to 1,113 wildfires through July 2026, already above the 2025 count for the same period.[6][7] Since launching during the COVID-19 pandemic, La Siembra has distributed nearly 100,000 trees.[8]
