Puerto Rico's Department of Natural and Environmental Resources has started a technical evaluation of possible reduced bioluminescence at Puerto Mosquito Bay in Vieques, Secretary Waldemar Quiles announced on Monday, Oct 12.^[1] Quiles said agency technical staff are evaluating bioluminescence measurements at the bay.^[2] Four outlets carried the announcement the same day, describing it as a technical assessment of a possible decline in the glow.^[3] Separately, DRNA is developing a new platform called Poseidón to replace its current Neptuno system.^[4] The facts name no link between that software work and the Vieques measurements. The agency has not yet released readings from the bay. The number to track is whatever the evaluation reports.
