The United Center of Retailers (CUD) will take its proposed solutions to the Puerto Rico Legislative Assembly, the Fiscal Oversight Board and la Fortaleza, the organizations said Oct 19.[1]
CUD projects that more than 12,000 small and medium-sized enterprises could close if current economic conditions persist without effective relief, a loss it puts at roughly 70,000 jobs.[2] The participating organizations plan to coordinate meetings with legislative leadership, the Junta and la Fortaleza to seek concrete actions to reduce energy costs and protect local businesses.[3]
The move names the three seats of power at once. Whether any of them answers with the concrete actions CUD asks for is not yet in the record.
