The Puerto Rico Convention District Authority has launched a new public brand identity -- the Harbor District -- for the area around the convention center, executive director Veronica Ferraiuoli announced Thursday, Oct. 22. [1] [2] The brand unifies the district's existing and future spaces under one identity, covering the stretch from Bahia Urbana to undeveloped Miramar waterfront land. [3] [4] Ferraiuoli said the authority will expand hotel, residential and tourism offerings in the district. [5] The improvement works behind the rebrand are funded with $130 million. [6] The authority is also accepting private development proposals for unused district land. [7] Two anchor projects are already moving. A 1,140-foot waterfront walkway is planned for Puerta de Tierra. [8] Distrito Park, a proposed public park next to the Puerto Rico Convention Center, carries a proposed investment of approximately $4 million, with most of its public areas and activities free. [9] [10] [11] Separately, an RFI process, PRCCDA-2026-01-RFI, was awarded to DL, LLC, an affiliate of PRISA Group, which is developing the Distrito Sports Hub complex with an approximate proposed investment of $20 million. [12] [13] [14] The Harbor District brand carries the slogan work, play, live. [15]
