Para la Naturaleza completed the distribution of over 25,000 native, endemic, and fruit trees across six municipalities in Puerto Rico under its annual La Siembra 2026 campaign, the environmental organization said on Oct 10. [^1]

Fernando Lloveras San Miguel, president of Para la Naturaleza, said the initiative aims to combat heatwaves and protect natural systems on the island. [^2]

The account from Periódico La Perla does not break down how the trees split among the six municipalities, name the species, or give the dates the handouts ran. Those would tell a reader how much of the total was fruit versus native canopy, and where the trees landed.
