A lawyer, Luis A. Quiñones González, was shot and killed on Oct 23 on Avenida Las Américas in Ponce, according to El Nuevo Día.[^1]

The account names the victim, the street and the city, and identifies him by his profession. It does not say who fired the shots, whether anyone has been detained, or what the motive may have been.

For readers in Ponce and across the island, those are the questions that remain. The record so far gives a name, a place and a date, and little more.
