Coamo mayor Juan Carlos García Padilla announced the official auction award for reconstruction of Hotel Baños de Coamo for $7.8 million. ^[1] Bella Sofia Contractors Inc. was selected as the winning bidder, receiving the highest evaluation score and submitting the lowest cost offer. ^[2] The Puerto Rico General Services Administration Auction Board awarded the Hotel Baños de Coamo reconstruction contract for $7.8 million. ^[3] Prior reconstruction work on the hotel was halted after unforeseen hidden structural damage caused budget overruns. ^[4] The construction contract was awarded to Bella Sofía Contractors, Inc. during an official meeting at COR3 headquarters. ^[5] FEMA allocated $3,998,011.51 for the project, of which COR3 has already disbursed $899,553. ^[6] Project scope includes full demolition, construction, structural repairs, roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, finishes and exterior works. ^[7][8]
